Fire alarm company in Pompano Beach, FL

Pompano Beach’s Fire Prevention Bureau inspects every commercial property in the city once a year, along with every residential building of three or more units. That visit is where most of our Pompano Beach calls start: an alarm test that failed, a trouble light nobody can clear, or a violation notice with a correction date on it. Premier Fire Alarms & Integration Systems has worked across Broward County since the mid-2000s, and Pompano is a straight run up I-95 from our office on State Road 84 in Fort Lauderdale.

Fire alarm services in Pompano Beach

Most buildings end up needing two or three of these at once. A failed inspection on a 20-year-old panel usually becomes a replacement conversation, because replacement boards for some discontinued panels are hard to find and slow to arrive.

Annual inspection and testing

We test every initiating device, every horn and strobe, the batteries and both communication paths to the monitoring center. You get a signed report you can hand straight to the fire inspector.

Already have a violation notice from the city? Send it to us before anything else. We scope the job to the items actually cited and the deadline printed on the notice, so you aren’t paying for work the inspector never asked for.

Warehouses and industrial space west of I-95

A big share of Pompano’s commercial square footage sits in the industrial corridors along Copans Road, Powerline Road and Sample Road, and around the Pompano Beach Airpark. Warehouses and flex buildings fail in their own predictable ways. Tenant build-outs add walls and offices without moving a single detector. High open-joist ceilings need beam or air-sampling detection, not standard spot smokes that can’t see the fire until it’s too late. Sprinkler flow and tamper switches get disconnected during a remodel and never tied back into the panel.

The cheapest time to fix any of this is between tenants. If a unit is turning over, call us before the new lease starts.

Beachfront condos and high-rise buildings

East of the Intracoastal, along A1A and Pompano Beach Boulevard, the work is mostly condominium towers and hotels. Two problems come up constantly there.

Salt air. It corrodes devices, terminals and wiring faster than anything inland, and a detector that looks clean can still fail its sensitivity test. On older oceanfront buildings we usually recommend replacing aging devices rather than repairing them one call at a time.

Patchwork panels. Plenty of older towers run on systems that were modified by whoever was on call that year. We phase upgrades floor by floor, so the building is never left unprotected and the association isn’t paying for a fire watch any longer than it has to.

BDA and ERRCS radio coverage

Florida requires existing high-rise buildings to give firefighters reliable two-way radio coverage inside the building, which in practice means a bi-directional amplifier (BDA) or emergency responder radio communication system (ERRCS) in most towers. If your building has never had a signal strength survey, that’s the first step. We run the survey before we quote, so you’ll know whether you need a full system or a fix to the one you already have.

Monitoring without the copper phone line

Carriers are retiring the copper lines older alarm dialers depend on, and the lines that remain keep getting more expensive. We move monitoring to radio or cellular communicators that meet NFPA 72 and drop the monthly line charges.

Questions from Pompano Beach building owners

How often is my building inspected in Pompano Beach?

The Pompano Beach Fire Prevention Bureau inspects commercial properties and residential buildings of three or more units every year. Separately, NFPA 72 requires your fire alarm system to be tested at least annually by a qualified contractor, and the inspector will ask to see that report.

Do I need a permit to replace a few detectors?

Like-for-like device replacements are usually handled as service work. Adding devices, moving them or replacing the panel generally needs a permit and plan review. Tell us what’s changing and we’ll tell you which applies before we start.

Which panel brands do you work on?

We service EST, FCI, Fire-Lite, Siemens Cerberus, Simplex, Notifier, Mircom, Potter and Silent Knight, among others. The full list is on our brands we service page.

What if my panel goes into trouble at night or on a weekend?

Call (954) 404-7137. The line is answered 24 hours a day, and we dispatch to Pompano Beach for after-hours troubles and supervisory signals.
